Instructions
Prep the Crockpot: Grease the inside of your crockpot with non-stick cooking spray or butter to prevent sticking.
Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained green beans, condensed cream of mushroom soup, shredded cheddar cheese, ½ cup fried onions (reserve some for the topping), milk, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt (if using). Mix everything together until well combined. Pour the green bean mixture into the greased crockpot.
Cook on Low Heat: Cover the crockpot with its lid and cook on LOW heat. Cook time can vary depending on your crockpot, but typically, it takes about 3-4 hours on low. You can also cook it on HIGH for around 1.5-2 hours if you're in a hurry.
Add Toppings and Serve: About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle the reserved fried onions on top of the casserole. It's done when the casserole is heated through and the onions are crispy.
